The Soil Association
SKN-RG is proud to be this year’s winner in the Best Certified Soil Association Organic Range. We believe it is simply not enough in this world to say a product is “organic, vegan or cruelty-free”. Technically there is no definition of Organic or Vegan. So why wouldn’t we want to give you, the consumer, complete transparency by certifying our range Organics to be a Soil Association certified? We are also 100% approved by the Vegan Society and Leaping Bunny Cruelty-Free.
Organic is a very tricky subject, some may claim that “Organic” can be planted and grown in your back garden, some may say wildcrafting is a form of Organic, some would argue that is not possible in a world of over mechanisation and increased crops? How far does that pesticide spread? And the list goes on. But being Organic or Vegan isn’t just about where it is grown, it is how the product is produced, what goes into it and what ongoing impact it has, and what is not allowed. And this we feel is the crucial element.
As the industry continues to work out the true definition of Organic and Vegan SKN-RG has chosen to believe and support in these charities because we know first hand that not all products live up to their labels. So we decided to create a complete range that is both Certified Organic and Vegan Approved (a rarity as often beeswax is found in organic products which we do not use) instead we decided to raise the bar of the industry and create new innovative plant-based active products that do give you results without compromising.
One question we are asked often is what is the difference between the Soil Association logo/certification and COSMOS Organic. Its a tricky subject but in essence COSMOS Organic contains lower percentages of organic ingredients compared to the Soil Association Organic Logo. The reason for this is that when COSMOS was created it was meant to unify a range of certification bodies including ECOCERT and the Soil Association all offered a different certification level, which was lower than the Soil Association certification requirements (or some felt it was too hard to achieve Soil Association certification and that is was too difficult) the result was that the level was lowered. However, any new products that SKN-RG would certify would carry the new COSMOS logo. Our current ranges display the Soil Association logo, not the COSMOS one.
What does it mean for SKN-RG to be Soil Association certified?

– Sustainable produced and recyclable
– Non Organic ingredients i.e natural derivatives meet Soil Association standards
– Minimum 70% of the total ingredients must be from organic production.
– A product that only contains a few “key” organic ingredients for example “Organic Argan Oil or Contains Organic Coconut Oil” cannot be called organic unless it meets the minimum 70% amount of Organic ingredients.

The Vegan Society
In today’s world SKN-RG believe that substantiated claims are vital as not all skincare products live up to there labels. Its easy to think that a product would meet the requirements for a person who is Vegan but unless that specific formulation has been checked and audited by experts in the field how can you be sure?
SKN-RG are proud to have been awarded time and time again as “the” Vegan Performance Skincare Brand. But why is being a Vegan product so important? There are so many benefits to incorporating a Vegan lifestyle into your every day routine, but SKN-RG’s research identified early in our research that “animal by products” are not as effectively absorbed by the skins system than our active plant botanicals.
Its easy to be confused with so many companies claiming so many things, that is why SKN-RG became part of the gold standard in the Vegan industry by certifiying our products with The Vegan Society.
Discover what it means to be approved under The Vegan Society
– Free from all animal ingredients and by products inc; honey, beeswax and dairy
– Stands-up for the rights of animals
– Many ingredients can be derived from animal or plant. The Vegan Society assures only plant based animal friendly ingredients are used.
– Ingredients harvested by animals are checked to ensure high living standards.
The Vegan Society avoid exploiting animals for any purpose, with compassion being a key reason why many choose a Vegan lifestyle. SKN-RG choose to be Vegan for clinical reasons, as our research has demonstrated to us that animal by-products in beauty products cannot be processed by the body efficiently.

Leaping Bunny Cruelty Free
What does it mean to be Leaping Bunny Standard Cruelty free?
The on pack logo signifies that no animal testing has been conducted at any stage of: product formulation, production processes, raw ingredient sourcing or the product.
While some items say they are cruelty-free, those claims may only refer to the finished product. The Leaping Bunny logo assures you that the product has not been tested on animals at any part of its creation or contains animal products in the raw ingredients through to the finished product by SKN-RG or any of its suppliers of raw materials.
“SKN-RG believes that beauty products should be cruelty free. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements.
All of our own brand cosmetic and personal care products are approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free products. We adhere to a fixed cut-off date policy and proactively monitor our suppliers to ensure that our products continue to adhere to the Leaping Bunny criteria. Our supplier monitoring system is also independently audited.
